Love this place! We're here maybe every other week. My go-to is the hibachi steak and the bang bang shrimp. The steak is always seasoned well and cooked as requested. The shrimp is large and cooked perfectly. I also love the steamed buns when I want to change it up. Overall, great laidback atmosphere and great prices for the amount of food you receive. I can't recommend this place enough!

Gozen is a wonderful little restaurant with excellent food. The crab rangoon is literally the best I've ever had. I get the tonkotsu ramen most of the time (chicken katsu and pork are both great). I have had the hibachi and it was good as well. My friend had the yakisoba and said they were delicious and he was impressed. There is a canned and bottled alcohol selection and many different flavors of ramune soda. This place has become a regular date spot for my wife and I. The price is also very affordable, which makes it perfect.

The sushi was fantastic and the best bowl of shoyu ramen iv had. The eating area was small but feel cozy. Service was great as soon as an item was ready it was brought to the table.

Tried this place for the first time tonight, and it was extremely good! They offer coke product fountain drinks. The interior is super cute, and the service was super quick and friendly. We also loved the music they had playing while we ate. They offer hibachi fried rice and basic sushi rolls which we thought were delicious. But what we really enjoyed was the takoyaki and the steamed buns! The meat was so tender in the braised pork buns and the takoyaki had a lot of meat in the fillings. I also believe this is quite a bit of takoyaki for the price as many places only give you a small amount. Highly recommend checking this place out.

Excellent! I had the stir fried noodles with chicken. It was perfect - the noodles and veggies were cooked just right, not mushy or undercooked. The chicken was tender and juicy with some crisp edges. Gobsmacked someone in this city knows how to cook chicken! The overall flavor was savory and the taste was just right and I’m craving it again just thinking about it. It’s a cozy spot too. Tucked to the side of the road in a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it storefront, the dining area is smaller, but can accommodate 30-50 people. I really liked the bar seating with the window view. Everything I could see was extremely clean and tidy - the soda fountain still looks brand new. Lastly the service was great. The woman who took my order at the counter was very polite and answered all of my questions about the menu - she even brought me chopsticks and napkins to my seat! I thoroughly enjoyed my visit and can’t wait to try more

We recently noticed this newish (to us, that is) ramen place off Markham and Bowman and stopped in for lunch today as we did some shopping at nearby Trader Joe's. We were very glad we did so. The ramen was excellent. I had brothless ramen with chicken katsu; hubby had tonkotsu ramen with pork. Both were excellent (and both are depicted below). The boiled egg halves that came with both could not have been better prepared, soft and yielding when bitten into. The tonkotsu was very well seasoned with a tiny hint of ginger. Both the pork slices in that bowl and the generous slices of chicken katsu in my bowl couldn't have been tastier. The single discordant note was that my brothless bowl of noodles was sweetened in some way. The unexpected sweetness detracted from what was otherwise a wonderful ramen lunch. This is a small order-at-the counter type of place with a limited menu — and that's a good thing, since what they do, they obviously do well. The interior is pleasant, with bench seating at tables against a wall and bright cushions one can sit on scattered on the bench. I highly recommend Gozen after our lunch there today. We'll be back.
